Foodloops

FoodLoops is a cultural deep mapping project by students in Communications 3700 at TRU. Using the Kamloops Food and Urban Agriculture Plan as a base, students research and tell stories of citizens who are passionate about local food production, food distribution, food festivals and events, food literacy, building community through food, and food assistance in Kamloops.

  • Incorporates a map built on the Google API to allow for geography-based navigation.
  • Form-based authoring (SPLOT-style) simplifies content submission process and makes site easier to manage.

Knowledge Makers

An Indigenous Student Research Network at Thompson Rivers University. This site is home to the program’s news and event information, issues of the Knowledge Makers journal, and a hub for the researcher’s ePortfolios.

CAISSIE: Critical Analysis of Images, Site Seeing, Imaging, Examining

An open educational resource in which students submit and critique images on themes of capitalism, gender, history of seeing, images for professions, mass media, globalization, the future.

  • Simplified form-based no-account required authoring process (SPLOT style).
  • Map-based navigation based on where images were photographed.
  • Image metadata and navigation utilizing categories and tags.
